Happiness is . . . Coloring - Pages for Adults

In the middle of March I shared with you, the benefits of having a hobby. At the same time I shared my newest hobby. That post was on my other blog. You can check it out HERE.

Today I would like to share with you again. I created this fun little colouring page in time for Easter. Feel free to take a copy for yourself or someone else. Colour it any way you wish. And most importantly - have fun.

Enjoy the experience and live in the now - just for a moment get lost in the paper in front of you relax and be happy.

My daughter has been badgering me to get my drawings posted on Etsy so I will be busy scanning for the next couple of days.

I am a little freaked out. I hope you stop by once it is live and check out the images.

Bye for now.

Have a wonderful week!

When The World Says Give Up . . .

Hi, I am so happy that you decided to pay me a visit.

No need to grab a coffee today. This is a quickie.

Not too long ago I wrote a post about my granddaughters' perseverance when learning a new skill.

I asked this question, "What could we accomplish in life if we still had that kind of determination?"

If you missed it, you can read it HERE.

Anyways, I thought it might be nice to make a printable that expresses the kind of determination and perseverance that a child possesses.

I am hoping that this quote can inspire and remind us all that we can achieve the unbelievable as long as we remain steadfast in spite of difficulties, obstacles or discouragement.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, Stacey from Along Came Life chose to feature my post, When The World Says Give Up . . .

This is what she had to say, “This is so true, sometimes we parents have so much that weighs us down, that we might be quicker to just give up or not do something. When maybe if we tried that one more time to achieve our goals, because perseverance pays off. My kids have proven it so many times, while trying to master, even something as simple as a video game, they learn that if they keep trying they will eventually master that level.”

Gratitude Journal Week Two: When Life Gets Sour Sweeten it With Gratitude

I honestly believe in the power of keeping a gratitude journal. It is a simple habit and it only takes a few minutes a day.

It is the key to a happier life.

Gratitude Journal Week Two

  1. I am grateful to Beth and James for finding us a place to live. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
  2. I am extremely grateful for having Honey Bunny in my life because she gives me reason to keep moving when I am down, she is the sunshine in my life. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
  3. I am grateful for having a mattress to sleep on.  Thank you, thank you, thank you.
  4. I am grateful for all the moments that get me through the day. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
  5. I am grateful to my Mom for loving me unconditionally and always being on my side. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Never under estimate the power of your gratitude journal. It is one of the best tools to give you an attitude for gratitude. And subsequently bring you sustainable happiness. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Just a Bad Day, Not a Bad Life

Having a bad day? Bad week?

Don't beat yourself up about it. We all have off days. Some more than others. Like my husband for instance. He has a shit finger. Yep, that's right. (I said the s--- word. tee hee hee) Everything he touches turns to shit.

When he is feeling ridiculously silly, he likes to chase me around the house with his poop finger, trying to touch me. Of course I can't get away from him because he has those big ole monkey arms that can reach me from any point in the room. (He is tall so his arms are long - not that he resembles a monkey in any way. Like, he's not hairy, okay)

Why are guys such bugs?

I'm just thinking now. I wonder if it is just his pointer finger or his whole hand that is the problem? How much of him would we need to sever to get rid of the shit? I'm thinking his pointer finger will do. Yep that must be the answer. Then I will take that finger, go for a drive, and throw it out the window. What do you think of my plan?

Alright. Seriously. He's the glass is half empty kind of guy. He just keeps drawing the bad to himself. Over and over and over again. He'll never learn.

Now for the rest of us, who do not have a shit finger, we need to put it in perspective. So what. We had a bad day. Will any of it matter in a month from now? Or a year from now?

Keep this in mind: most things can be fixed. It may be difficult to correct but it can be fixed. So don't sweat it.

And remember, it is a Bad Day, not a Bad Life!

Winter Blahs - Today is a Great Day to be Alive

The snow is really piling up around my house. My granddaughters love the snow but it has been too cold to play outside. I don't mind the snow, it's the below zero temperatures and wind chill factor that get me.

Actually I prefer the snow over slush. Slush is so messy. Cars pass by spraying everyone within reach. The kids snow pants and mitts get wet so they get extra cold. And unless you have really good boots, your feet get wet and cold.

So for now I will be grateful for the snow bank in front of our house that is at least three feet tall by now.

Those poor guys who pick up the garbage and recycling must have a heck of a time. I am so grateful to them for all their hard work to keep our streets clean.

Okay. Sorry but I have to complain. Yes I do. I can't stop it. I MISS THE SUN. But at least it stays light out until six o'clock now. Dark at 5 pm is a real bummer. It can be hard to stay positive when the only sunshine you see is through a small window.

So for all those who are missing the sun and warm weather I have a little boost - a little sunshine for your day. Enjoy the free printable. And feel free to pin it.  :)

You are Awesome!

Surprise! I was surfing the net again. I came across this image and absolutely had to share with you.

My five year old Granddaughter, Sidney was standing beside me when I scrolled down to the picture.

I read it out loud then told Sidney, " Hey look. They are pointing at you.!"

A big smile spread across her face. She asked me, "at me?"

I replied, "ya, look, they are pointing at you."

She was beaming and immediately skip hopped over to her Mom and Dad to tell them what she saw on the internet.

I have to admit I smiled too when I fist saw this. I think it would be a fantastic addition to my gratitude board. I hope you like it too because you are awesome!
